Privacy Policy

1. Overview

KeepDM is an offline-first mobile application. It does not require an internet connection after the initial import. It does not have a backend server, it does not store user data in the cloud, and the developer, Aman Mishra, has no ability to access your messages, contacts, or any data you import into KeepDM.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

KeepDM does not collect, store, or transmit your Instagram messages or conversation content. We also do not collect photos, videos, or audio files from your DMs, your name, email address, Instagram username, password, device identifiers, advertising IDs, fingerprints, usage patterns, screen views, location data, contacts, or any other personal information.

3. Data Stored On Your Device

When you import an Instagram backup, the message content from the export, the media files from the export, your custom contact names and profile photos, your saved message bookmarks, and app settings are stored locally on your device in encrypted form. All of this data lives inside KeepDM's sandboxed app storage on your device and is encrypted using AES encryption. It is never uploaded anywhere, and if you delete the KeepDM app, the stored data is permanently deleted from the device.

4. Third-Party Services

KeepDM uses a small number of third-party services to support purchases. RevenueCat processes in-app purchases and subscription status, and when you make a purchase it records the transaction, but it does not have access to your messages or imported data. Apple App Store and Google Play also process purchase data under their own privacy policies.

No other third-party SDKs are present in KeepDM. There are no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no ads in the app, and no crash reporting services that receive personal data from your imported archive.

5. Local Notifications

KeepDM uses local notifications to remind you when your free trial is nearing expiry at 5, 6, and 7 days. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification content or schedule is sent to any server.

6. Children's Privacy

KeepDM is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are under 13, please do not use KeepDM.

7. Data Security

All imported data is encrypted on your device using AES encryption. KeepDM optionally supports biometric lock, including Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint, to prevent unauthorized access. We strongly recommend enabling this feature if you keep sensitive messages in the app.

8. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete from our end. To delete your data from KeepDM, simply delete the app from your device. All data is removed immediately and permanently.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of KeepDM after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update.
